- Cauliflower Paratha: To make cauliflower stuffing, sauté in oil finely chopped cauliflower, onions, green chilies with a sprinkling of salt and jeera powder. Make a depression in a small ball of dough, press the stuffing, bring the edges to cover and roll out into round discs. Fry on a hot gridle, adding ghee or butter , until golden brown on both sides.
- Trail Mix can be made with unsweetened cereal, raisins and nuts.
- Pasta with Cheese: Melt butter in a pan add a tbsp of flour and keep stirring for 2 minutes, add two cups of milk stir well so that no lumps are formed. Season with salt, pepper, mustard and cheese. Toss the cooked macaroni to coat well. (optional to add smoken chicken, bacon, ham and vegetables.)
- Fruit juices are available in a variety of flavours in 200ml tetra packs. Freeze them overnight so it stays chill. You also get them with “no added sugar”.
- Cauliflower Bajji: Soak the Cauliflower florets in salted boiling water for 5 minutes. Wash and dip them in a light batter of gram flour, all purpose flour, salt and water. Deep fry till golden brown.
- Lime Rice: In a saucepan, temper in a little oil, mustard seeds, split dals, slit green chilly and a pinch of turmeric. Add the cooked rice & juice of half a lime and mix well.
- Crispy Fried Okra: Cut the okra lengthwise and sprinkle with a mixture of gram flour, salt and chilli powder. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the okra until crisp.
